New Delhi — The Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of NCT of Delhi, has officially launched the second cycle of online admissions for the 2025–26 academic session for students seeking entry into government and government-aided special schools. The announcement provides a clearly defined schedule to streamline the admission process for children with special needs, ensuring accessibility and transparency.
The latest notification applies to all classes from Nursery to Class XII across Delhi’s special schools. This includes fresh admissions, re-admissions, and student transfers.
Parents must register their child online through the official DoE website. The portal will go live on June 20, and parents are advised to check seat availability and prepare the necessary documents ahead of time.
Note: Even for re-admissions or inter-school transfers, the process must be initiated online. Schools currently hosting the student must guide parents during this process.
If the number of applications exceeds the available seats in any school, a random computerized draw (lottery) will be held. This draw is designed to ensure fair selection without bias and will be conducted openly on July 11, attended by parents and school representatives.
Schools are required to forward their selected lists to the Inclusive Education Branch of the DoE by July 14. Final admissions must be completed by July 18, and any remaining seats will be filled from the waitlist between July 19 and 21.
A senior DoE official noted:
“This admission cycle prioritizes transparency and ensures that every eligible child with special needs has equal access to education. We encourage parents to apply within the timelines and keep in contact with their local schools.”
This initiative marks an ongoing commitment by the Delhi government to inclusive education and supports the rights of children with disabilities to have equal access to learning opportunities. By conducting the process online and clearly outlining every step, the DoE ensures a smooth experience for both schools and families.
Children with disabilities or special needs who are seeking admission from Nursery to Class XII in Delhi government or government-aided special schools are eligible.
The online registration for the second admission cycle will begin on June 20, 2025, at 5 PM via the official Directorate of Education website.
The last date to submit online applications is July 5, 2025, by 5 PM.
No. This round also includes re-admissions, inter-school transfers, and first-time admissions.
Typical documents include:
If applications exceed available seats, a lottery system (random draw) will be held on July 11, 2025, in the presence of parents and school officials.
The lottery will be conducted in each respective school that has excess applicants, ensuring transparency.
The final admission list will be released by July 16, 2025, after the selected lists are submitted by the schools on July 14.
Waitlisted candidates may still get admission between July 19 and July 21, if any seats remain.
Parents should regularly check the DoE official website or directly contact the school where they’ve applied.
