Park, Faridabad

Town Park, Sector 12

Faridabad's biggest town park, around 40 acres in Sector 12. Good for a long walk or a run, though the upkeep has slipped in recent years.

What it is

Town Park is the city's main public park, spread over roughly 40 acres. It has lawns, shaded paths and a jogging track, along with swings and a play area for children. Morning walkers and joggers come from the surrounding sectors, and on winter weekends families bring a picnic and spread out on the grass.

It has not been looked after as well as it once was. A public-private arrangement for its maintenance fell apart in 2021, and in late 2024 residents told The Tribune about poor cleaning and neglected flower beds. The municipal horticulture staff are well short of their sanctioned numbers.

Getting there

Badkal Mor and Old Faridabad are the nearest Violet Line stations. Take an auto from either. If you drive, expect to park on the road outside at busy times.

When to go

Early morning is the best time, when the walkers are out and it is still cool. Winter afternoons are pleasant, and evenings fill up with families after school and office hours. In the monsoon, remember that Sector 12 was one of the sectors that flooded badly in the August 2024 rains, so the roads around it may be under water.

Good to know

Do not count on any fountain or ride being in working order. We could not confirm what is running now, and maintenance has been patchy.
