Buddh International Circuit

The 5.125 km track off the Yamuna Expressway that hosted Formula 1 from 2011 to 2013 and MotoGP in 2023. Racing came back in late 2026 with the Indian Racing Festival.

What it is

India's Formula 1 track, built inside Jaypee Sports City. After the Indian Grand Prix ended in 2013 it sat largely unused for big racing until MotoGP Bharat in 2023. MotoGP was then dropped from the calendar.

The Indian Racing Festival brought the F4 Indian Championship and the Indian Racing League here on 31 October and 1 November 2026, with another round set for 28 and 29 November. Bike and car track days and smaller events fill other weekends.

Getting there

Drive down the Yamuna Expressway from Pari Chowk and take the exit for Jaypee Sports City. There is no metro or train anywhere near, so plan on a car or a cab, and allow for a slow exit when a race day ends.

When to go

Only for an event. Check the organiser's site for dates and tickets. Winter race days are the most comfortable, since the stands get a lot of sun.

Good to know

The circuit is among the assets of the insolvent Jaiprakash Associates. Lenders picked the Adani group as buyer, but Vedanta challenged that and the case was still before a tribunal in 2026, so what happens to the track long term is open.

Carry a cap, sunscreen and water. Ear protection helps, especially for children.
