Market, Noida

Atta Market

Noida's oldest market, in Sector 27 across the road from the Sector 18 metro. Cheap clothes, street food and heavy evening crowds.

What it is

Before the malls came, Atta was where Noida shopped. It grew up around Atta village and was once called the Connaught Place of Noida. Today it has more than 700 shops and many more stalls selling clothes, sunglasses, artificial jewellery and watches at street prices. Phone repair counters are everywhere, and the food carts do brisk business from late afternoon.

Getting there

Noida Sector 18 station on the Blue Line is right beside it. The metro runs above Vijayant Thapar Marg, with Atta on one side and the Sector 18 malls on the other.

The market has no parking of its own. The nearest car park is in Sector 18 Pocket A, across the road. Take the metro if you can.

When to go

Late morning and early afternoon on a weekday are the calmest. Traffic police call 5 to 9 pm the worst stretch, and weekends and festival weeks are heavier still.

Good to know

Bargain, and check the stitching and sizes before you pay. Keep your phone and wallet close in the crush. Hawkers take up much of the footpath, so in places you end up walking on the road. The wiring over some lanes is a tangle, and a fire at Krishna Apra Plaza in 2025 shook the shopkeepers.
